Creative Gift Wrapping Ideas for Christmas!

25 Nov 2020

Now that you’ve got the perfect gift for your loved one, why not take it to the next level by wrapping the gift in a creative way! Whether you want your gift to stand out from the sea of presents, or if you want to express your gratitude, we’ve got a few ideas in mind that may inspire you.

Rustic wrapping style with flowers

Here’s an idea that can give you the holiday and sentimental vibes as soon as your loved ones sees it :) When in doubt - brown paper is always the safe choice. Tie it loosely with twine, slot in dried/preserved flowers and voilà - you’ve got yourself a beautiful gift! You can totally switch up the vibe with festive items such as candy canes and jingle bells or spruce up the colour palette with vibrant flowers.

Here are our preserved bouquets and baby's breath bouquets that will go along very well with the gift. Click on the image to buy now:

Eco-bag it!

Another way is to simply place the gift in an eco-friendly tote bag. There are many options out there with varying designs - illustrated and colourful in all sorts of sizes! You can even purchase a plain tote bag and get crafty by customising one yourself. Plus, you get to save on buying additional gift bags, ribbons and wrapping paper :)

 Furoshiki-inspired wrapping

Now this is an interesting way to wrap your gift! Furoshiki is a Japanese wrapping cloth traditionally used to carry around belongings and is now also used as a gift wrapping method. To wrap a gift in Furoshiki, all you need is a two-sided square cloth and some basic folding skills. Of course you’re not limited to only using Furoshiki, you can use any other cloth which is not too light - this is to ensure that it keeps its shape and can be fastened tightly. Similar to using wrapping paper, you can have fun with buying a piece of cloth which best suits your loved one.

 Enveloped with memories

Here is a truly unique and thoughtful way to wrap your gift. Print images of yourself and your loved one and have them blown up to make wrapping paper out of them. Whether it’s a lovely shot of the both of you, or a silly embarrassing moment caught on camera - I’m sure they will appreciate it!

Word Search wrapping

Watching your friend unwrapping your gift is fun - but watching them struggle to find the clues to open can be even more satisfying ;P While you can leave a simple address such as “TO JOHN”, you can also have fun with it by leaving messages or clues such as “OPEN ME TONIGHT” or “THIS ISN'T JOHN'S PRESENT”

Check out Something Turquoise’s tutorial on how to create your own version.
